"FREE" $10 DIY Monitor Stands Project
$10 DIY AUDIO-MONITOR STANDS
This Pair of Low-Cost DIY Audio Monitor Stands BELOW is an easy build and can be done for just around $10.
The 6-pieces of wood needed to build this are (photos below): The Stand Base, The Speaker Platform, The Leg Support attached to the Stand Base, The Leg Support attached to the Speaker Platform and the Left and Right Legs.
The
Speaker Platform and Stand Base
are both cut from 1"X12"s and the Legs and Leg Supports are cut from 2"X6"s.
In reality, the 1"X12" is actually 11.25" wide and the 2"X6" is actually 5.5" wide.
Thus the Speaker Platform is  11.25"X 9" and the Stand Base is 11.25"X12" as shown in photos below.
The Leg Supports that are centered and attached with (4) 2.5-inch wood screws (each) to the rear of the Base and Platform measure as follows:" 2.5"X5.5" for the Speaker Platform and 5.5"X5.5"for the Stand Base.
The length of each Leg should be based on whatever length is required to place the Monitors at YOUR ear height and are attached to the leg supports with 3.5-inch wood screws
!

THE SUGGESTED BUILD SEQUENCE IS:
1) Center the Leg Supports to rear of Stand Base and Speaker Platform
and attach using FOUR-2.5 inch Wood Screws. (PHOTOS 1&2)
2) With top of Speaker Platform on floor, attach legs to each side of it's leg support as shown below using FOUR 3.5-inch wood screws. (PHOTO 3)
3) Attach legs to Stand Base with FOUR 3.5-inch wood screws as shown below. (PHOTO 4)
4) Attach Base Stand to legs
with FOUR-3.5" wood screws t
hrough legs into bottom of Base Stand as shown below. (PHOTO 5)
5) Flip unit right-side up and attach Speaker Platform to legs in the same manner as done in #4 and be sure to counter sink screws into base enough so screw heads will not damage finish on Monitors. (PHOTO 6)
6) Paint or Finish (or not) as preferred!
